WYEP Live Music Fund

Music has the power to become the soundtrack of our lives, cementing important events into our consciousness, allowing us to recall a memory with just a few notes. Shared live music experiences strengthen our connection to the artists and each other.

To mark our 50^th anniversary, we established the WYEP Live Music Fund to produce, promote, and support live music performances in the region while nurturing local artists.

Your philanthropic investment in this initiative will enhance current WYEP live music events and provide new ways for music fans to experience live performances including:

• Augmenting and increasing WYEP-produced live music events, in more venues across Greater Pittsburgh featuring national and local artists.
• Additional funding for the WYEP Summer Music Festival 2025. This free event can reach a broader audience by increasing our ability to attract a larger pool of potential artists.
• WYEP music journalism to elevate live concerts in the region from local and national artists.
• Producing live broadcasts of performances, from Live & Direct Sessions to full concerts.
• Providing seed money for WYEP-produced ticketed live music events.
• Creating “opportunity” resources to allow WYEP to say yes when emerging and established artists offer to partner with the station for a concert.

The WYEP 50^th Anniversary Host Committee is leading this initiative to generate an additional $200,000 for the WYEP Live Music Fund by April 30, 2025. This restricted fund will elevate live music as a regional asset essential to the cultural and economic vitality of the Pittsburgh region.
