What's Spinning: Week of Feb. 23 — Beach Bunny, Lucius & Palmyra

Take a listen to the new catch song from the pop punk band, Beach Bunny, enjoy the rootsy and thought-provoking "Horses" by Jesse Welles and take a road trip to Arizona with Palmyra — here's what's new in rotation on WYEP this week!

Beach Bunny, "Tunnel Vision"

The pop punk band from Chicago return with their catchiest song to date, that moves them away from a normal theme of heartbreak and tackles growing older, dealing with anxiety, and bigger issues we're facing as a society. Beach Bunny play the Roxian Theatre on April 12.

Jesse Welles, "Horses"

Jesse Welles has made a name for himself, by singing cleverly about topics in the news, playing acoustically, while set in nature. His rootsy approach to music and appreciation of classic artists shines on "Horses," and throughout his debut album called "Middle." While the song takes a bigger picture look at policy, it ends up being a song about love and hate.

Palmyra, "Arizona"

The trio from Richmond, Va. have announced their full length debut, set from release on March 28. Indie rock meets folk on "Arizona," the new single that takes the listener on a road trip of the Southwest while seemingly experiencing growth on the journey of life.

Lucius, "Gold Rush"

The highs and lows of love and relationships can be felt on the new cut, "Gold Rush," from the indie pop band, Lucius. The new album features many collaborators including Adam Granduciel, Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith, and Madison Cunningham.

Zack Keim, "Wash Away The Pain"

Pittsburgh musician Zack Keim has been working on "Battery Lane," his new album, for a few years. It was recorded locally, and produced by Animal Scream and Jake Hanner. The new single starts out as a layered, shimmering song about escape and dealing with pain, while leaving the possibility of hope open.
