For WYEP
Byron Nash of NASH.V.ILL plays at the WYEP 2023 Hellbender Ball.

WYEP recently asked Pittsburgh area artists to share with us their upcoming plans for the first half of 2025 and beyond. We’re planning more and better ways to get the word out about Pittsburgh music goings-on, and we wanted to share some of the highlights we received from those plans.

(Musicians: while the submission window for the first half of 2025 has closed, we’re going to be soliciting info for the second half of the year in May or June.)

February recordings

Byron Nash and his band NASH.V.ILL just started releasing a song every month through the year, and Nash will also do the same with solo music. Check out their YouTube channel to catch the music. First up is a cover of Betty Davis' "If I'm In Luck, I Just Might Get Picked Up" for Black History Month.

Brenna Slate’s indie-folk musical project Lounna just released a new album, “Garden For Winter.”

Singer/songwriter Zack Keim’s second album, “Battery Lane,” is coming out on Feb. 7. The album is released by Super Sport Records, the label started by Evan Westfall of the band Caamp, and produced by Jake Hanner and Animal Scream.

Mike Berginc’s musical project Reliable Child is currently writing and recording a three-song release that focuses mostly on original, acoustic material with an ‘00s indie-folk vibe. Mike plans to have a song out from it around mid-February.

Friday, Feb. 14 is the date when Animal Scream’s new EP “Otherworldly Pictures” drops. The EP features six new songs, including the already-out single "A Tiny Love." There will be a limited vinyl release, pressed at Hellbender Vinyl, featuring a Side B of six additional remixes. Those remixes will also be available on Bandcamp.

Garage rocker DiLisio is dropping his new single “Firebomb” on Feb. 21 (album release in May; see below).
