Lindsay Liebro, a junior at Hampton High School, is the winner of the 2020 Singer-Songwriter Competition.
Liebro pulls inspiration from her own life, creating fictional characters to inhabit her songs. She finds it thrilling to write from a perspective different from her own, to tap into different angles and explore fresh ways of feeling an emotion.
Taylor Swift’s latest release, Folklore, resonated deeply with Liebro, helping her feel connected to one of her greatest influences.
“You know, I think she actually read my mind when she wrote [it],” Liebro said.
