Barb Steinberg began hosting at WYEP in October 2007. Prior to that, she had spent nine years working in commercial radio and always wanted to be a DJ. Originally a huge fan of male singer-songwriters, Barb found herself diving into the world of indie artists when she began hosting on Sunday afternoons. But her journey didn’t end there. In 2008, she started going on a yearly music cruise that exposed her to even more genres, from singer-songwriters to roots and Americana. This experience broadened her knowledge, broadened her taste, and opened her ears to new sounds which give her an appreciation of the music played on WYEP more and more each year.

When you tune in on Sunday afternoon, Barb thoughtfully curates a diverse selection of music, including both male and female solo artists and bands. She strives to keep her audience engaged and create a seamless listening experience with each set of music featuring captivating voices and tidbits of information to highlight the songs and artists she’s chosen.
