Barbra Labbie

Barbra comes to Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting with more than 10 years of experience as a philanthropy professional. A native Pittsburgher, she's a longtime listener of WYEP and WESA.

Prior to PCBC, Barbra served as Manager of Individual Giving at Pittsburgh Opera, where she garnered support for the organization while getting to know fellow opera lovers. Barbra's early career includes being a top telefundraiser for WYEP, WAMU, The Sierra Club, The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Habitat for Humanity, and other well-respected nonprofits.

In addition to fundraising, Barbra has spent many years as a professional video producer, creating promotional videos for nonprofits and government organizations. She's also conducted community engagement studies (for example, on affordable housing issues for the City of Pittsburgh). The throughline of her career is Barbra's enthusiasm to learn about people, their perspectives, and interests, and build mutually rewarding relationships.

Barbra lives in the East End of Pittsburgh with her husband, Robert, and two cats, Bernie and Joey. Having a love of live performance and the outdoors, you will find Barbra, in the summertime, enjoying the WYEP Summer Music Festival and concerts in parks around Greater Pittsburgh.
