With String Machine & Dissidente

“Cheers to 25 years!”

From the village of Belle Vernon to the bright lights of the Burgh, the combination of energy and sincerity has long been the hallmark of Punchline; the band from Pittsburgh that prides itself on constantly trying to craft honest and meaningful songs, all while connecting in a meaningful way with their audience.

For twenty-five years, the core of the band has remained the same, as Steve Soboslai and Chris Fafalios started the band way back in the Summer of 1997, and their energy and dedication haven’t waned. Flash forward to 2022 and Punchline has gone from practicing in a sleepy Mon Valley garage to having toured the United States (and literally the world) with bands like Gin Blossoms, Fall Out Boy, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, and so many more.

Rounded out by drummer Cory Muro and guitarist Trevor Leonard, these legends of the Western PA music scene have experienced a lot of musical triumphs in their career; including a #1 Rock album on iTunes, taking Paramore to Japan on their first tour outside of the USA, basking in the wall to wall audience love when performing fan-favorite song “Heart Transplant,” and overcoming the biggest challenge of all; growing up to be a bona fide adult (all while keeping the same band intact).

This July 8th, prepare to celebrate twenty-five years of amazing music and wonderful memories with Punchline; whose entire catalog of songs offer thought-provoking lyrics paired with infectious melodies, challenging those who cannot seem to see the present tense for what it is — an opportunity to make a change and make a difference.

Join the band for a once-in-a-lifetime evening of memories, as the band has been preparing a special anniversary show at the Thunderbird Music Hall that is sure to be nothing short of delightful for new fans or those who have been with them since day one.

Punchline invites you to celebrate their anniversary and reflect on the inspiration and passion behind their many songs, as the songs are the thread that ties everything together and allows the performances to work in perfect harmony. We can’t wait to see you in July!
