2020 Singer-Songwriter Competition

We’re searching for Pennsylvania’s best Singer-Songwriter talent in our month-long, virtual competition.


It’s time! The 2020 Singer-Songwriter Finale has arrived. Watch this space at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, to see our 16 finalists perform for first, second and third place prizes. Judges include Mike Glabicki of Rusted Root, Devon Gilfillian and Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell of  Overcoats.

Prizes include:

  • First Prize: $500, A fully produced audio track from Sean McDonald at Red Medicine Recording Studio, a photoshoot with Renee Rosensteel, a consultation session with Jeff Betten at Misra Records, an on-air Local 913 feature on 91.3FM, and performance opportunities as public health and safety allow.
  • Second Prize: $350, performance opportunities as public health and safety allow.
  • Third Prize: $150, performance opportunities as public health and safety allow.

  • September 17, 2020-Round 3

Judges: 91.3 WYEP Mid-Day Mix host Kyle Smith, Jordan Snowden of Pittsburgh City Paper and Clinton Clegg of The Commonheart

  • September 24, 2020-Round 4

Judges: 91.3 WYEP Production Director Brian Siewiorek, Alex Neal of The Thunderbird Cafe and Mary Kay Riley, 2019 competition winner.
