What does your membership mean to WYEP?

WYEP is an independent public radio station. Our financial health is largely dependent on the community, whether through support from individual memberships or through corporate underwriting from local businesses. WYEP Members, people just like you, provide close to 60% of WYEP's operating budget. Become a new member or renew your membership today and be a part of WYEP's future.


Why Join?

As a commercial free radio station, WYEP depends on our members, underwriting and grants to allow us to bring you the eclectic mix of muic, programs and specialty shows that make you tune to 91.3fm in the first place. In order for us to continune to play a diverse selection of music both on air and streamed live from the web, live performances and interviews from national acts, and events like our local music Third Thursdays, we ask you, the listener to help us by pledging your financial support to the station.

As a WYEP Member, you're eligible to attend special Members Only events like concerts, movies and plays. You'll receive 9 newsletters a year, and for our members at $40/year and higher, the Year in Review–a look back at the top musical releases as heard on WYEP. Members at $240 and above also receive special invitations to buy tickets to CD Live! concerts before the general public.


Matching Gifts - Make your gift go twice as far!

Many companies will match donations to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations like WYEP. Its very important to us and its easy for you! Just visit your human resources department or look online for details and a matching gift form. Fill out the employee portion, return the form to WYEP and we'll take care of the rest while you enjoy the benefits of a station, and a community, made even stronger through your effort and your company's contribution.

Give the gift of WYEP

Whether it's for a birthday, holiday or just to brighten someone's day, why not gift your loved ones with a WYEP Membership! Fill out your information. If you need this processed ASAP, please let us know in the comments section.


Give an additional gift

Giving an additional gift over and above your annual membership is a great way to show your loyal support and further strengthen the station where the music matters. A gift of $10 or $20 over your annual membership goes a long way. For additional gifts of $35 or more, you may select the latest Live & Direct CD as a special thank you gift.

Installment Pledges

If you join WYEP online, our automatic credit card processing will occur on the same day each month when you are paying your membership off in installments. So, if you join on July 11th for $10/month, then on August 11, September 11 and so on, your credit/debit card will be charged $10.

If you're a Member via the phone or email, we will process your debit/credit card on the first business day of each month. If y ou're receiving reminders in the mail to send your monthly check, we mail those out during the last week of each month.


Sustaining Members

Similar to an installment pledge, some Members choose to become Sustaining Members. You may use your debit/credit card OR your bank account. The difference between a regular installment pledge and a Sustaining plan is that the Sustaining Membership doesn't expire each year, it automatically renews itself until YOU tell us to stop (rather than you receiving a renewal letter each year and instructing us to renew your memberhsip).

Sustaining payments are processed on the first business day each month.


Acknowledgement of Membership/Member Card/Premiums

You should receive either an email or postcard confirmation of your pledge the week of/immediately following your first payment. Your thank you letter, including your Member Card and WYEP sticker will be mailed out approximately within the first two weeks after your first payment. Premiums may take up to 4–6 weeks to arrive. Thank you gifts are "ok-ed" by the database after Membership payment is received.

We try our best to send all premiums, especially the CD of the Week, much sooner but we have to depend on our Volunteers' schedules, not to mention delivery of CDs etc so times may vary. If you need a premium in a hurry, or you haven't received your selected gift within these time frames, please contact Membership Director Kathleen Radock or 412.381.9131 x212.


CD of the Week

Every week we focus on a new, exciting CD from our on-air rotation. The Featured CD of the Week lets you take a closer look at the work of one of the innovative artists we bring to you every day on WYEP. With your credit or debit card pledge of $60 or more you can receive the CD of the Week as a thank you gift for your support. If you're already a member paid in full at the $60 level or higher and have not yet taken a thank you gift you can still choose a Featured CD of the Week.
