Dave Hause and the Mermaid
Philadelphia native Dave Hause has been performing in punk and hard core bands and as a solo artist since the mid 90’s. With influences like Led Zeppelin, The Clash and The Ramones, he has built a loyal following with punk fans familiar with his role as front man in The Loved Ones and guitarist/vocalist in The Falcon. His latest album “Bury Me In Philly” is a love letter both to his hometown as well as the larger-than-life rock acts he grew up worshiping as a teenager. Produced by award winning producer, writer and fellow Philly native Eric Bazilian, a newly sober Hause holed up in his new home in California and wrote nearly forty songs, eleven of which would end up on the album.
Hailing from Belle Vernon, PA, Punchline formed in 1998 while the band members were all still in high school. From the beginning, the band built a loyal fan base, mostly due to its rousing live performances and unending tour schedule. In their earliest releases, Punchline took a progressive approach to punk rock. They pushed the envelope in a genre which rarely did, and this bold approach brought with it a strong, loyal fan base all across the world. Several strong releases followed over the next decade, paired with a personal connection with the people that supported Punchline along the way. By the time they self-released “So Nice To Meet You” on their own label Modern Short Stories in January of 2012, their fans rallied to show their support. The EP shot to the Top 10 in the country on iTunes during its release week, and to #1 in Rock. They just released their eighth album “Lion” to critical acclaim.
