Wilco "Star Wars"

This album is once again a showcase for the band's wide range of styles and influences from Neil Young to T. Rex to The Beatles and more. On "Random Name Generator," Jeff Tweedy sings "I change my name every once in a while," and it sounds like a metaphor for Wilco's rapid musical metamorphoses. Wilco's mindset seems to be more about the lowering the car windows and blasting the rock 'n' roll, and for that, Star Wars is a great album. It's a fairly brief ride, as well. Clocking in at less than 34 minutes total, it's their most concise album to date. (Mike Sauter)
