The Lone Bellow "Walk Into a Storm"

Though the rootsy band relocated in 2016 from Brooklyn to (appropriately enough) Nashville, and recorded the new album in Music City, album number three shows off the trio’s easy harmonies and folk-tinged rock sound without any radical departures. The lyrics do show the band in a perhaps more personal and emotional state, with songs about coming to grips with age and facing hard times with support of friends or family. The album was recorded fairly quickly in the studio and that might have resulted in a more compact sound, but the group’s catchy choruses are as expansive as ever.
