Album of the Week

U2 "Songs of Experience"

This is the 14th studio album from the Irish band, U2. The album starts out with the eerie "Love is All We Have Left," which begins the record on a downbeat. They are reflecting on growing older and their own mortality. The record is a step up from their last release, 2014's Songs of Innocence, which was infamously made available on everyone's iPhones. Themes like the comfort of home and the power of love run throughout. Elements of strong rock allign with some off-the mark tracks, like the Kendrick Lamar collaboration, which seems to be out of place. However, the fact that this band has remained relevent and strong cannot be overlooked and Songs of Experience holds up among their greatest releases.
